Building on the success of the original Angel-4, the Angel-4 Mk II is packed full of substantial upgrades. From the outside there’s no visible sign that anything has changed, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts when it comes to making music!

What Makes For The Astonishing Musical Performance Of The Angel 4 MKII?
The Angel-4 Mk II uses a full 3-island power supply like the flagship Angel-6 amplifier. This requires 3 times as many capacitors as a conventional amplifier supply, but the effort is repaid with even more layers of transparency and detail.
The upgrade has more than tripled the capacitance compared to the original Angel-4 power supply. This really is the high-Cap version of the Angel-4! Not only has the capacitance increased drastically, but we’ve also improved the quality of the supply to each amplifier module by lowering the supply impedance.
Retaining a single-box design allows us to keep the impedance of the power supply as low as possible, and we’ve further optimised the supply routing and reduced track lengths to gain even more benefit from the capacitor upgrades. This all results in better dynamics and the amplifier has tighter control of the loudspeaker.
The improvements that these upgrades make to the sound of the Angel-4 Mk II are wide-ranging: instruments sound more natural, the flow and rhythm of the music are more effortless and addictive; basslines have more texture and are full of character; percussion is, well, more percussive and realistic; and individual threads in the music are easier to follow, having more space and soundstage, without sounding at all analytical. In short, it’s even more musical.
